Eritrea frees 36 Christians jailed for their faith

The Eritrean authorities have released on bail 36 prisoners who had been in detention because of their faith. Sources told the BBC that 14 of the delivered detainees have been in confinement for as long as four years in the Dahilik island. The detainees are all from Christian Evangelical and Pentecostal groups. The Eritrean government has been delivering individuals detained as a result of their strict connection. In September 2020, the Eritrean government delivered in excess of 20 detainees who had been kept for quite a long time.
